Scalloping and Mosaic Pattern of the Duodenum

A 65-year-old female patient was admitted to the gastroenterohepatology outpatient clinic due to diarrhea, exhaustion and weight loss of about 6 kg complaints in the last year. Her medical history revealed that she had no chronic disease other than hypertension, and she did not use any medication other than ramipril, an antihypertensive drug that she used continuously.

Neuroendocrine Carcinoma (NEC) of the appendix is extremely rare and its clinical characteristics and treatment strategy have not been well established. Here we present a case of appendiceal NEC with very rapid progression, in which complete remission was achieved by radical surgery followed by systemic chemotherapy.
