1.1. Background: Granulocyte-Colony Stimulating Factor (G-CSF) rarely induces severe systemic vasculitis. However, diagnosing vasculitis can be challenging because clinical mani festations in the early phase are non-specific. We report a case of pegfilgrastim-associated vasculitis in a patient with rare Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) genotype and multifactorial disorder during breast cancer chemotherapy.

1.1. Rationale and Objective: To compare the safety and efficacy of computed tomography-guided percutaneous microwave abla tion (MWA) in treating pulmonary nodules under conscious anal go-sedation with hydromorphone versus morphine. 1.2. Materials and Methods: This was a retrospective before– after study. Between October 2020 and June 2022, 358 patients with 390 pulmonary nodules underwent 358 MWAs. Of these 358 patients who had consented to receive MWA treatment, 108 patients received morphine (group A) and 250 patients received hydromorphone (Group B). The individual characteristics of each patient and lesion, as well as technical information, clinical in formation, opioid-related complication, and numeric rating scale (NRS, 0=none, 10=worst) were collected and analyzed.

Knee cap dislocation is a common orthopedic injury that can lead to significant pain, instability and knee dysfunction. Surgical man agement of knee cap dislocation involves various techniques in cluding anteromedialisation and arthroscopic lateral release. The modified Elmslie-Trillat technique combines these two procedures for a more comprehensive and effective treatment. The aim of this retrospective study was to evaluate the clinical outcomes of the modified Elmslie-Trillat technique for knee cap dislocation in a series of 5 patients.

Japan was a forerunner in rapid economic development in NE Asia after WWII, followed by South Korea with two decades behind due to Korean War (1950-53). Children in Japan started to increase in height radically in 1960, as the inputs to health, food consumption increased in quantity and quality and then quit increasing in height in the mid-1990s. They were overtaken by Korean peers by 3.0 cm in the mid-2000s, that plateaued in height afterwards. The Great Chinese Famine, caused by the Great Leap Forward led to severe malnutrition in China nationwide in 1975-1985. China’s economy has made fast development since then. Very little is known about the trend in stature, “net measure that captures the supply of inputs to health” (Steckel) in China since then. Based on nationwide sur veys, CNSSCH, this note explores trends in children’s height in China over the period of 1985 to 2020.

The hearing theory announced in the first half of the 20th century by Georg von Bekesy requires reviewing and updating. There has been a huge advancement in the sciences ever since, which allows to deepen the understanding of processes responsible for reception, processing and transmission of acoustic information. The study paid attention to several issues related to hearing, which require a deeper analysis. A bold hypothesis was stated that the signal in the form of a sound wave does not necessarily have to run through the cochlear fluids and the basilar membrane. It may reach the hearing cells through the bone of the cochlear enclosure. Attention was draw to the meaning of swinging motions of the stirrup and of the inertia in the middle ear and the inner ear.

1.1. Background: Cold or warm feelings were reported to be common symptoms of stroke patients. We recently reported that intravenous administration of autologous Adipose-Tissue-Derived Stem Cells (ADSCs) significantly improves neurological func tions, including a skin temperature increase, shortly after treat ment. 1.2. Aim: To confirm the effect of ADSCs on the skin temperature of stroke patients, we measured skin temperatures immediately before and shortly after ADSC therapy and evaluated the clinical effect on stroke patients in relevance with the skin temperature.

Chronic pelvic pain and dysmenorrhoea are not so rare in adoles cence. It is important to assess clinically young girls with these symptoms to exclude gynaecological conditions like endometrio sis, pelvic inflammatory disease, ovarian cysts, and obstruction of the reproductive tract or non-gynaecological causes, like irritable bowel syndrome, interstitial cystitis, and myofascial pain. Man agement of chronic pelvic pain in this group of population can be more complex, because of the involvement of parents, the fact that clinicians must consider the long term emotional and physical health, fertility or sexuality of young girls. Psychological support can also be employed if indicated.

In recent years, people’s exposure to pulsed radiofrequency (RF) or microwave radiation from wireless technologies has exploded, mainly due to the roll-out of 5G. In addition to more base sta tions, millions of so-called smart water and electricity meters are being installed. This technology is forced upon people near or in their own homes, despite a complete lack of research showing that 5G and wireless water and electricity meters are not harmful to human health. At the same time, the first two studies to date on the effects of 5G have shown that 5G base stations cause adverse health effects in humans and that radiation similar to 5G damages neurons in the brain in animal experiments.

Paediatric inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a chronic disease with a multifactorial etiology. The role of nucleotide-binding oli gomerization domain (NOD)-like receptor protein 12 (NLRP12) in IBD pathogenesis and the clinical relevance of variants of NLRP12 in IBD disease course have not yet been clarified. We report a child with IBD and a wide range of extra-intestinal symptoms in whom many years after IBD onset a novel variant-of-unknown clinical significance (VUS) in the NLRP12-gene was found. Targeted ad justment of therapy improved the clinical course of the extra-in testinal manifestations, suggesting a causative relation with this VUS. We provide an overview of the available literature on the role of NLRP12 in the pathogenesis of IBD.

1.1. Background and Purpose: Research on lymphedema mainly focuses on the upper limb after breast cancer resection. Lymphede ma of lower limbs occurring after pelvic tumor resection should not be ignored. Lymphedema of the lower limbs has a great impact on the quality of life of patients.
