Denys-Drash syndrome consists of the triad of progressive nephropathy characterised by diffuse mesangial sclerosis (DMS), genital abnormalities, and Wilms tumour. Nephropathy may range from early onset proteinuria to nephrotic syndrome to end stage renal failure. Genital malformations affects both external and internal genitalia.
Postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) is an everyday problem in each recovery room [1]. The use of total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA) and the administration of dexamthasone and ondansetron helps to significantly reduce the incidence of PONV [2].
Tooth eruption involves the migration of the teeth from a nonfunctional position within the bone to a functional position in the jaw. In orthodontic practice, it is inevitable that one will encounter eruptive abnormalities such as impacted, ectopically erupting, transposed, congenitally missing, and supernumerary teeth.
Hypereosinophilic syndrome is an unexplained disorder characterized by prominent blood and bone marrow eosinophilia and tissue eosinophil infiltration. It can cause damage/dysfunction of multiple organs, mainly involving the skin, heart, lungs, gastrointestinal tract and the nervous system.
Although the effectiveness of tranilast in cutaneous sarcoidosis has been reported, its recorded adoption in systemic sarcoidosis is finite. We report a case of huge subcutaneous sarcoidosis with multiple organ involvement and systemic symptoms relieved quickly after the treatment of tranilast, suggesting that tranilast is expected to become the first-line therapy of sarcoidosis as for its less side effect.
