Statin-induced immune-mediated necrotizing myopathy (IMNM) is an exceedingly rare complication of statin use, which should be suspected in the patient with elevated CPK levels, symmetric proximal muscle weakness and persistence of symptoms despite discontinuation of statin therapy.
