Adult T Cell Lymphoma/Leukaemia with renal infiltration: A Case report from Sri Lanka

Adult T Cell Leukaemia/Lymphoma (ATLL) is a rare T cell lymphoproliferative disease associated with Human T Cell Lymphotropic Virus-1 (HTLV1) endemic in some parts of the world and therefore has a distinct demographic distribution. There are no cases of ATLL reported in Sri Lanka thus far hence this is the first reported case. Renal parenchymal infiltration in ATLL is extremely rare.

ACUTE CHLORINE GAS POISONING AND ECG CHANGES

1.1. Introduction: Chlorine is a yellow-green gas at room temperature. It is an extremely reactive element and a strong oxidizing agent. It has intermediate water solubility and it can cause acute damage to upper and lower respiratory tract. It can be detected easily because of its strong odor (1,2). Common cause of chlorine gas poisoning these days are accidental industrial exposure. Toxicity of chlorine depends upon the dose and duration of exposure.

Metastasis to brain and lung in carcinosarcoma of the parotid gland – a case report and review of literatures

Carcinosarcoma of the parotid gland is a rare and aggressive malignant mixed tumor in which carcinomatous and sarcomatous elements coexist and metastasize together. The tumor may occur in patients with previous or coexisting pleomorphic adenoma or may arise de novo of the parotid gland.

A new panel of DNA methylation biomarkers for screening colorectal cancer and precancerous lesions in a Chinese population

1.1. Aims The identification of tumor-specific DNA methylation patterns in epithelial colorectal cells in feces has emerged as a novel and noninvasive screening method for colorectal cancer (CRC) and precancerous lesions. Our study investigates a new panel of DNA methylation biomarkers with high sensitivity and specificity for the early screening of CRC and advanced adenomas in a Chinese population.
