The Developing Patterns of Calibrated Implant Stability Quotients of Posterior Implants

Many surgical protocols were modified to improve dental implant primary stability for the ensurance of implant success. However, the conclusions of applying osteotome condensation technique could enhance implant stability were controversial. The evaluated ISQs were calibrated to differentiate the stability improvement that applied by varied surgical technique and bone quality at recipient sites. Therefore, this study was aim to examine the developing patterns of calibrated ISQ values induced by osteotome bone condensation and conventional drilling technique at the posterior ridges.

Infectious Aortitis Complicated by Type B Intramural Hematoma

An 83-year-old woman was admission due to intermittent fever for 1 week. Her temperature was 38.5°C, and chest X-ray demonstrated tortuosity of aorta with calcification of aortic arch. Her blood cultures subsequently all grew Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Echocardiography revealed no vegetation.

A Rare Case of Amyand’S Hernia with Acute Appendicitis

Amyand’s hernia is an extremely rare and atypical hernia that is difficult to diagnose clinically characterized by the herniation of the appendix into the inguinal sac. The reported incidence is less than 1% of all adult inguinal hernia cases. Acute appendicitis in Amyand’s hernia is even less common, with 0,1% of all cases of acute appendicitis.

Hookah Use and COVID-19

A hookah (shisha, waterpipe) use may increase the risk of suffering from serious symptoms due to COVID-19. Like smoking, hookahs may exacerbate the risk for severe COVID-19 through shared use and being difficult-to-clean the long pipes and having a cold water reservoir. Social gatherings also provide an opportunity for the virus to spread.
