Tamoxifen may have a negative effect on bone mineral density in Fanconi syndrome-related osteomalacia
A 61-year-old Japanese woman was admitted to our hospital for further examination of generalized bone pain. At age 46 years, the patient was diagnosed with Fanconi syndrome associated with benign monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance. At age 56 years, alkaline phosphatase (ALP) increased to 448 IU/mL. A bone biopsy was performed, and osteomalacia was diagnosed.
