1. Abstract The authors describe a 3-year-old previously healthy girl who presented with new-onset hepatic encephalopathy due to accidental consumption of Cassia occidentalis seeds. The child found the seeds four days before her presentation in the dehiscent fruits of a plant that was kept in a flowerpot in a neighbor’s house.
