Production of Microcrystalline Cellulose from Fibrous Maize Stem: Re-Engineering Food By-Products for Pharmaceutical Use

1. Abstract
Microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) has become one of the major pharmaceutical excipients in high demand in the world today. The constant use of wood to produce microcrystalline cellulose may lead to the danger of deforestation.

Corneal Perforation in Mooren Ulcer

1. Clinical Images
A 57-year-old woman presented to ophthalmologist with pain, redness with diminution of vision, of her left eye over a period of last 5 months. On examination, the visual acuity was 20/20 in the right eye and counting fingers in the left eye.

External Support Arch of the Feet

1. Historical Article
Doctors do not have knowledge in the field of biomechanics, and therefore cannot understand the kinematics of the pairing of the bones of the skeleton of the feet (Figure 1). Speaking of flat feet,
no one thinks about the presence of supporting arches, from which all deformations begin.

Incidental Finding of Neuroendocrine Tumor in Extension Study With 18f-Fdg Pet- Tc of Choroidal Melanoma

1. Abstract
We present the case of a patient who came to our Nuclear Medicine department for a 18F-FDG PET-CT scan after recent diagnosis of coroidal melanoma. Incidentally, we detected a mesenteric lesion that did not show FDG avidity but was highly suspicious for a second neoplasm.

Corneal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

1. Image Article
A 76-year-old woman presented to the ophthalmologist with a 1-year history of redness, fleshy mass, foreign body sensation and decreased vision in her left eye.

Pyomyositis; A Rare but Dangerous Adverse Effect of Anabolic Steroids

1. Summary
Pyomyositis is an acute bacterial infection of soft tissue and results in intramuscular localized abscess formation. Anabolic steroid injections are frequently used by athletes in recent years despite their
well-documented adverse effects. Pyomyositis is one of their infrequently reported side effects.

Dual Left Circumflex Artery

1. Case Report
Dual Left Circumflex arteries (LCx) represent a very rare congenital anomaly with only few reported cases in literature. Herein, we present a case of dual LCx arteries originating from the left main and right coronary arteries, respectively.

Immediate Resolution of Non-Withdrawel Delirium Through Daridorexant: A Report of Two Cases

1. Abstract
We report here two cases of older women, 84 and 97 years old, who were admitted to our department for conservative treatment after a fall. Both women developed delirium in the course of the inpatient stay. After administration of 50mg Daridorexant, deliri- um was completely dissolved the next morning. Delirium did not recur even after discontinuation of medication. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of the efficacy of Daridorexant in the treatment of delirium. As part of an ongoing study in our department, these observations will be further objectified.

Infantile Systemic Inflammatory Disease Associated with a De Novo POMP Intragenic Deletion

1. Abstract
Proteasome maturation protein (POMP), encoded by POMP, is a protein that functions as a chaperone for proteosome maturation. Pathogenic variants in POMP, are associated with the Proteasome- Associated-Autoinflammatory Syndrome (PRAAS), Keratosis linearis with ichthyosis congenita and sclerosing keratoderma (KLICK) syndrome, POMP-related autoinflammation and immune dysregulation disease (PRAID), and chronic atypical neutrophilic dermatosis with lipodystrophy and elevated temperature (CANDLE).

Mathematical Model of Anal Canal for Anal Fistula Surgery

1. Abstract
1.1. Purpose: Surgery is necessary for the treatment of an anal fistula. However, excision of some sphincter muscle would compromise sphincter integrity or function, which is the cause of a reduced success rate in the long term. In order to develop an appropriate surgical plan, a mathematical model that describes the relationship between the internal pressure of the anal canal and the structure of anal sphincters was established in this study.
